We are grateful for our growing tribe of book readers, critical thinkers, and humanists who appreciate the art forms and the many themes contained within the world of The Panharmonion Chronicles.

Indie publishing has become even harder now that the world is becoming an ocean of Ai slop. But we believe in the special value of humans and their universal potential, so we hang on to it for as long as we can.

Graphic novels are still a misunderstood narrative form by most of the UK public but we hope to help bring a growing appreciation with each new reader who stumble upon the deep layers of The Panharmonion Chronicles.

Volume two “Ghosts of Sound” is due for publication in 2026, so ahead of this exciting event, we have asked new readers, thanks to Love Books Tour, during the first month of this year, for their impressions of Volume one “Times of London”published by Supanova Media a couple of years ago.

Here is a short summary below.

“This was like nothing I have ever read before and I don’t say that lightly. From the moment I opened The Panharmonion Chronicles, I knew this wasn’t going to be a casual, skim-through kind of book. This was a sit down, slow your brain, pay attention kind of experience. And honestly? I loved that about it. First of all, let’s talk about how beautiful this book is. The artwork isn’t just there to support the story it is the story. Every page feels intentional, alive, and charged with energy. You can tell a lot of care went into the visuals, and it shows. I found myself pausing constantly, not because I was confused, but because I needed to take it all in. This is one of those books where the art and the narrative are in conversation with each other, and neither one overpowers the other.

Story-wise, this book is layered. It blends mystery, science fiction, alternative history, and identity in a way that feels ambitious but not careless. It doesn’t spoon-feed you. It trusts you. And I really respected that. The central character’s journey is emotionally complex there’s trauma, talent, resistance, and a quiet search for self running underneath everything. You can feel that this story is about more than just what’s happening on the page. It’s about power, control, creativity, and what happens when systems try to shape who you’re allowed to be. Overall, this book feels bold. It’s artistic, thoughtful, and unapologetically different. It doesn’t try to fit into a neat box, and I think that’s exactly its strength. This is the kind of story that lingers in your mind after you close it, the kind that makes you think about identity, control, and creativity long after the final page.

If you love visually striking graphic novels, layered storytelling, and books that challenge you instead of rushing you, I absolutely recommend this one. It’s not for everyone but if it is for you, it’ll hit hard in the best way.” From Enola H. https://www.instagram.com/whatnolareads/

“I was blown away with the stylish and punchy artwork, it’s vibrant and bursting with life as it exudes energy on each page to match the fast paced adventure. I couldn’t put it down and read through it in one session. I loved the diversity of characters, locations and timelines which were easy to follow. The tension mounts as the story progresses and you end up willing the FMC Alex to uncover her past, which holds buried family secrets and her supernatural powers. I enjoyed the caring relationship between Alex and her cousin Ravi and the support he lent to her. I loved the blend of science, history and technology and seeing how it all integrated into the story. The separate timelines were easy to follow and lent an air of mystery to what exactly the shadowy secret organisation is up to. I need more now that I’ve started! Definitely recommend if you like sci-fi, urban fantasy and fast paced action thrillers.” From Claire S. https://www.instagram.com/clarabella_della_rosa/

“ The dual timelines were an interesting aspect and it’s one of my favourite elements. The illustrations are brilliant and I absolutely loved the art style which fit the story perfectly and made everything feel so dark, immersive and thrilling. This is a very action packed story with a strong plot that kept me hooked and the mixture of history and modern society added to its pros. I loved the characters and found them quite unique (and sometimes mysterious). Overall, the atmosphere was thrilling and eerie in the best way and I cannot wait to read the next books in the series.” From Melina L. https://www.instagram.com/melisbookreviews/

“This was a fantastic read! If you enjoy stories that dabble in the nature of time and reality while also tackling serious and timely issues such as race, identity, power struggles, etc., definitely check this out. The story-telling, world building, and spectacular illustrations are so beautiful. The colors are so vibrant! I personally was particularly drawn to the incorporation of music and sound into the story. This first installment is an action-packed adventure across time and I cannot wait to see what happens in volume two!” From Jennie P. https://www.instagram.com/jennie_poofs_reads/

“I couldn’t believe how stunning this graphic novel is until I held the physical copy in my hands. Every page, starting from the front cover is stunning. The illustrations throughout the book are amazing, even the chapter headings. I very quickly got invested in the plot. There is a lot of action from the beginning and I ended up reading so much in one go. Alex is an incredible protagonist. She’s so strong and tenacious. I was backing her corner the whole time I was reading. As well as being action fuelled, the storyline is also interesting. The timeline flits back and forth throughout and the story is set primarily in London and Canada. I really loved the way there were subtle differences in the illustrations between the different time periods. It really helped me stay on track of what was happening. It’s a fantastic first book in the chronicles. I’m desperate to find out what will happen with Alex next.” From Alice D. https://www.instagram.com/plumbobmummy/

“This isn’t a book, it’s art! The graphics are awesome and the story is great fun to read along with the graphics adding to your imagination. The story is about a musician called Alex. She finds a hidden tunnel under the building she’s renovating into flats. She goes exploring and finds a mysterious gold orb. After the find she starts to experience weird things and situations.I won’t say anymore because it’ll give away the plot, but you should definitely read this. It was fast paced and definitely a page turner. If you like graphic books/comics with dark themes this is definitely one for you!” From Rianne M. https://www.instagram.com/riri._reads

“Wow. I loved this book. The illustration the story. Everything about this book. It’s been a while since I’ve read a graphic novel. There was action from page one. I did like Alex. I was rooting for Alex from the start. This was like a movie in my head. Now I want to get this in paperback as I feel it deserves to be seen on paper. I would definitely recommend this book.” From Sue W. https://www.instagram.com/sue.wallace1974

“A time travel steampunk graphic novel? Yes please! With additional themes of colonialism, racism, religious supremacy and misogyny. I loved it, and I was so sad that I couldn’t continue the story with the next volume. The illustrations are so realistic and so vividly coloured! The main character is such a badass, and I couldn’t help but look up to her, and her ancestors. The plot is fast paced and compelling, and the villains are properly hateful. I honestly just wanted to punch them through the pages, so realistic they are. The steampunk and scientific elements are also very cool and original and I can’t wait to read more of it! There were only a couple of scenes which were really disturbing for me, as an animal and especially rat lover, so be that your trigger warning if you need it. Even so, this is a very cool and captivating sci-fi mystery set between the 1880s and the present with incredible illustrations.” From Chiara C. https://www.instagram.com/aratecla_the_bookrat/

“I am a huge fan of graphic novels, and this one was absolutely brilliant. It wrapped up graphics, horror and vibrant, completely stunning illustrations into a story that is long enough to completely capture you, entertain you and really make you want to read so much more from this author.
I was really intrigued by what it promised, both in the blurb and the stunning cover and this book really gave you everything you would hope for and expect. It was thrilling, exciting and had the perfect vibes. The female main was spot on for this read and had characteristics that drew you to her and her vibes.
I loved the flow and feel of both the story and how well the illustrations matched that and truly told the story as a whole. Overall, I was really impressed and will go back for another read of this. From Bri W. https://www.instagram.com/pause_theframe/

“I haven’t read a graphic novel in a long time and with this in mind some of the elements in the chapters you rely on visual alone which really makes you take extra care to see what the illustration is telling you and gives you a good visualisation of the story opposed to a formative viewpoint in your mind. The illustrations are so detailed within each section with the graphic timelines and show the different locations throughout history running through the book. The book itself has a beautiful glossy cover in the format of A4 size making it quite easy to get lost in. This book has elements of mystery and supernatural appealing to all graphic novel readers and relating genres. It also highlights some hard hitting subjects such as race, equality and political view points. I would recommend reading!” From Sarah W. https://www.instagram.com/malmseymoments/

“I must say, it’s been quite some time since I last read a graphic novel, probably the last time was when I was a teenager. But it was an absolute joy to get back into it by reading one of such high quality. Set in contemporary London but also delving into Victorian London also, it’s part 1 in the Panharmonion Chronicles and if you’re into Sci-fi and time travel with a great cast of diverse characters and cultures, this is the book for you. The illustrations are absolutely superb, just so detailed and vivid and the book itself it really nice looking, majestic and feels good in the hand. It’s fast paced, a real page turner and overall, a wonderfully immersive experience. For me, it would make a great film or TV series.” From David B. https://www.instagram.com/fatguyreading/

“This was a great graphic novel. The story was strong, and I enjoyed reading it. It was very difficult to put down. I like the cover. It was eye-catching. The artwork inside the graphic novel was extremely well done. The colours were excellent too — very vibrant. The writing was good, and it flowed well. The speech bubbles were easy to follow, and there was no confusion. The setting was mainly in London, past and present. There were also some past and present scenes in Toronto, Canada. This worked well in the story’s context. I enjoyed all the characters. Alex was excellent, and her personal struggles were well written with sensitivity. I recommend this, and I look forward to the next volume.” From Nicola D. https://www.instagram.com/tartan_teapotsandbooks_croft

I am unsure if this is actually available in kindle but if you are going to get a copy I would HIGHLY recommend you get the physical copy. “My First Indie Graphic Novel: The Panharmonion Chronicles (Times of London) and it blew me away! It jumps between alternate realities and history, pulling my interest right in from page one. The artwork on my tablet was stunning. Well elaborated, detailed and cinematic. Just as I was expecting in a graphic novel. The story has it all — mystery, suspense, alternate worlds, creepy antagonists (really creepy in the graphics), super powers, and everything I wanted in it and more. I think the best part was the book plays with this idea that sound and music can link different times and places in unexpected ways — ties perfectly into the main character, a musician. It made my mind jumble into quantum mechanics and all those super scientific theories that interest me but I never got to fully understand.” From Rieze https://www.instagram.com/litriezewander

“This was my first ever graphic novel reading and I freaking loved it. I felt like a grow up kid. Let’s start with the quality the whole novel is of an exceptional quality from the paper to the absolutely stunning graphics.
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole plot. I think the pacing was quite fast thanks to the the dual timeline and multiple “Londons” 🇬🇧 and 🇨🇦 and other destinations. The struggles of our main Female Main Character Alex are well portrayed both through the language and the illustrations. I’m hoping there is more to come from her and her squad. This gets five stars from me. If you’re a graphic novel fan of horror, Sci-Fi thrillers this one is for you. From Leanne B. https://www.instagram.com/queen_and_the_wolf
